Description

The FT232R is a USB to serial UART interface device that integrates an external EEPROM, USB termination resistors, and an integrated clock circuit that does not require an external crystal within the device, simplifying USB to serial designs and reducing external component count. It has been developed to work efficiently with a USB host controller by consuming as little of the total USB bandwidth as possible.

FTDI’s royalty-free Virtual Com Port (VCP) and Direct (D2XX) drivers eliminate the requirement for USB driver development in most cases.
